HISTORY & DESCRIPTION:

Carenda, formerly Vesta 111 was built in 1938 by Landamore's of Wroxham. The boatbuilding business was established in 1923 in Wroxham by Edward Landamore a former apprentice of Brooke Marine, Lowestoft. The business soon gain a good reputation for quality dayboats, motor cruisers and a popular Broads based hire fleet. Edward's son Leslie designed and built the National 12 'Sparklet' dinghy class and Hustler range of yachts, still built to this day under the Oyster trade name.

Carenda was original built to the Vesta Class design as a holiday hire boat before being used during the Second World War for barrage / sea plane defence. She was sold in to private ownership in 1941 and re-named Rabrina. In 1965 Carenda, having been re-named by her new owner Mr Bush was taken back to Landamore's where Leslie Landamore was responsible for the re-configaration and convertion to sea-going use for her then owner Lt. Col. J H M Stennett of Ashover, Derbyshire a member of the Royal Norfolk & Suffolk Yacht Club.

The current owner purchased the vessel in 1990 since when she was been carefully maintained and kept in a covered boatshed on the Broads.

In 2005 / 06 Carenda underwent a major refit overseen by a marine surveyor. All recommendations were carried out following a November 2012 survey.
