HISTORY & DESCRIPTION:

A traditional Baltic motor-fishing vessel design, built in 1925 by the well known and respected Soren Larsen. Converted in the late 1980s to a private yacht then worked as a charter vessel in both the Solent and more recently in the Bristol Channel from a Bristol Floating Harbour mooring.

Currently owned by a Cornish based charity, Sea Sanctuary Grace of Falmouth has proven to be a very suitable vessel for sail training in the Falmouth area. The aims of the charity are now diversifying slightly hence offering Grace for sale. During the charities ownership an extensive two year refit was completed, work which included hull re-caulking, plank replacement, re-fastening, updated electronics and systems, some new tankage and a new mainsail.

Soren Larsen was the last vessel built by the yard in 1949, named in memory of Soren and still an active participant on the Tall Ships circuit.

2 inch oak planked hull galvanised boat nail fastened to sawn oak frames. Solid pine laid deck re-payed in 2014. Oak stanchions with full bulwarks. Mahogany deck-house, skylights and hatches.

Traditional style accommodation offering twelve berths in seven cabins. Four single cabins, two double and single cabins and owner/skippers aft double cabin with ensuite heads.

Four heads compartments in total.

Generous amidships saloon with fixed seating, large table, storage and spacious well equipped galley to port having double sinks with pressurised H &C, gimballed gas cooker and fitted re-frigerator. Companionway up to comfortable deck house with seating and access to aft cabin.

Solid pine pole masts with galvanised standing rigging. Varnished pine booms, bowsprit and gaffs.

Set of working sails including new Clipper Canvas main in 2016.

180hp DAF diesel engine fed by two 500 litre fuel tanks. Portable generator. Two large fresh water tanks. Grey waste tanks fitted new in 2016.

24 volt and 240 volt shore-power throughout.

BROKERS NOTE:

A well known traditional gaff ketch, formerly known as Tangaroa, a regular participant at classic boat festivals. In the current ownership the vessel has been updated and now offers great potential for ongoing charter work or sail training or indeed a fabulous long distance liveaboard.
