Broker's Details:

In the early 1960's Fairey Marine Ltd. commissioned naval architect Alan V Burnard to design a rugged motor-sailer for the company to be built to their successful cold-moulded construction methods. The Fairy Fisherman design as it was know was first launched at the 1962 International Boat Show and incorporated both MFV and lifeboat influences.  The Fisherman was a great success and the company went on to build many of these vessels throughout the 60s. The company was principally established by Sir Charles Fairey in the late 1940's and quickly established a reputation for a wide variety of craft by well known naval architects.  Today the company are probably most well remembered for their range of express cruisers built in the 1960's as featured in a number of James Bond films at the time.  The Fairey Owners Club was formed in 1986 and helps ensure the survival of these interesting boats for future generations.

'Lone Goose' was built for C P Hamilton-Adams MIMI of Warwickshire.  A member of the Naval Sailing Association Hamilton-Adams stationed the vessel at Bucklers Hard on the Beaulieu River in Hampshire.
