Broker's Details:

HISTORY & DESCRIPTION:

Christopher Rushbroke Holman (1925-2006) always known as Kim, needs little introduction as a world renown yacht designer with over 70 successful designs including the legendary Stella and Twister. Over 700 yachts have been built to Kim's designs and with Don Pye joining the company in 1964 the firm of Holman & Pye are still in production today with GRP moulded designs.

The Nymphet Class, later known as the Holman 26 is faster and more powerful than the Stella with a higher ballast ratio. The design was a great success and many examples were built from 1960, OSPREY being one of the first of the class.

Purchased by the current owner in 2013, a move to France now neccesitates a sale.

7/8th pitch-pine planking on oak and rock-elm timbers. GRP sheathed marine-ply decks. Varnished mahogany cabin coamings, cockpit, hatches and rails.

Traditional accommodation in two cabins with useful quarter berth, fo'c'sle and two full sized saloon berths to port and starboard. Aft chart table and adjoining galley with Orico spirit stove and pantry and crockery lockers.

Fo'c'sle with port berth, chain locker, sail stowage and heads compartment with marine wc.

10hp BUKH DV10 DIESEL ENGINE (circa 1986) shaft drive, three blade bronze propeller, two batteries.

Deck stepped alloy mast 31ft 9ins, 12ft 4ins wooden boom with roller reefing gear. Stainless steel standing rigging (2012) four sails. Crusader Mainsail (2011) Crusader Genoa (2007) Spinnaker, Jib.
