HISTORY & DESCRIPTION:

The Rampart Boatbuilding Company needs little introduction as one of the most well known motor-yacht yards in England. Established just after the First World War at Bitterne Manor, Southampton by George Desty the yard soon became famous for their range of production motor-yachts. Ramparts continued until the early 1980's as one of the last South Coast yards to be still building wooden boats. The Rampart 32 with its stylish lines and generous well finished accommodation is a highly successful medium displacement vessel. Featuring traditional construction with good sea-keeping qualities proven over many years. The design is ideal for extended cruising or for exploring French waterways as undertaken in previous ownership.

POP WATTS, formerly NEUMARO was built for Rt. Hon. Lord Euan Michael Ross Geddes (named after a combination of Lord Geddes christian names) in 1962 to a standard design. Lord & Lady Geddes kept NEUMARO on a Lymington mooring during their five year ownership. In the late 1960s the Rampart was sold to Oliver Watts of Milton, Portsmouth. He called the vessel POP WATTS and she remained in the Watts family for four decades, inherited from Oliver to Colin Watts. In more recent ownership the vessel has been fully re-furbished to a high standard and is possible one of the best examples of her type. Care was taken to retain the period charm and character and the result is an extremely original yet practical motor-yacht.

The current owner has successful set-up an Air bnb business from the vessels beautiful location on a private, self-contained thirty acre fresh-water lake adjacent to Poole Harbour and only a mile from the charming Saxon town of Wareham. A purpose built log cabin close to the mooring offers a modern shower and wc facility.

POP WATTS is offered with the option of a flexible term mooring lease or as an on-going business opportunity, managed by the nearby property owner. Alternatively there is good road access for a low-loader to transport the vessel to a new location.
