HISTORY & DESCRIPTION:

Prunella was designed and built by John Thornycroft & Co. of Hampton on Thames in 1938 for Francis Heron Muirhead of London.

Registered in London, Francis Muirhead kept Prunella until August 1981. He was a friend of Marconi and early radio and electrical equipment was reputedly tested aboard. Research is on-going in to Prunella's role during the Second World War.

Prunella has been stationed on the East Coast for a good many years in the current ownership. She has made a very comfortable floating / cruising home.

Stern post replaced and stern deck beams in 2013.

BROKERS NOTE:
Motor-yachts over 50ft have during the past few decades become extremely scarce and as such much sought-after. Prunella is a rare survivor from a bygone era and remains remarkably original in many respects. She offers spacious, comfortable accommodation ideal for extended family cruising, for exploring the inland waterways of Europe or as with the current owners a practical floating home. Offered at an extremely realistic guide price due to the owners decision to move ashore.
