During the mid-1930’s William Osborne junior drew up plans for a new motor-yacht design to be known as the Swallow Class. The design, based on his father William Osborne senior’s early Everyman’s design included features of the period with a flavour of Art Deco styling and lots of chrome fittings. The class was re-drawn a few years later with the Swallow Senior Class, of which probably the most well known is Naiad Errant, the famous Dunkirk Little Ship.
Skitawit 11 was built for R J Weeks of Wanstead, London also the owner of another Osborne built vessel Eagle of Arun, an Eagle Class 40ft Motor-Yacht.

Carvel mahogany hull on steam bent oak timbers, all copper fastened. Oak centre-line, pine decks, mahogany superstructure.

Twin Volvo MD 2030D Three-cylinder 29hp diesel engines fitted new in 1998. Serviced in April 2016. Two 80 litre fuel tanks. 240-volt shore power. 12-volt electrics. Trim tabs. Bilge fans. Four 12 volt batteries. Two x 200-litre freshwater tanks.

One of Osborne’s, now quite rare Swallow Senior Class Motor-Cruisers, produced only for a few years pre-war. A weatherly and capable estuary, river and coastal vessel offering well-planned and characterful accommodation ideal for extended holidays or weekends afloat.
