HISTORY & DESCRIPTION:

American naval architect Peter Ibold (1936-2010) was the principal founder of the ‘traditional revival look’ of the late 20th Century. In the 1970s Peter drew plans for the Endurance Class beginning with the successful ’35’. Such was their popularity for long-distance cruising he extended the lines to create a range of Endurance sizes. Peter produced more than fifty designs overall ranging from 8m to 35m.

Windboats of Wroxham, Norfolk, formerly Graham Bunn Boat Builders, were the UK builders on the Endurance Class from the 1970s onwards developing the Seacrete method of construction.

DARSHAN, formerly AKITSUSHIMA 11 was built in 1990 and spent her early years in Amerimar, where the current owner bought her in 1998. She was sailed back to the UK and stationed in West Wales.

In recent years DARSHAN has not been sailed very often and consequently now requires some cosmetic work and upgrading of equipment.
