HISTORY & DESCRIPTION:

Lady Sybil H, built in 1932 by Harland & Wolff Shipyard, Belfast, of worldwide fame as builders of the Ocean Liner  RMS Titanic.

The RAF Pinnaces, of which only a handful have survived, were designed to be used to rescue airmen and pilots from planes that had ditched in the sea. Lady Sybil H saw active service during World War 11 and remarkably her war-time log books survive, these will be passed on to the new owners.

Listed on the Register of Historic Ships.
Registered Number: 169542      Port of Registry: Cardiff

Lady Sybil H was discharged from service in 1946 and professionally converted to a private motor-yacht for Edwin Hinds. After some years in Cardiff Bay the previous owner’s grandfather bought the boat in 1955 and moved her on to the non-tidal River Severn. For many years Lady Sybil H was moored at the ‘Blue Flag’ Severn Motor Yacht Club from where the family spent many happy summer holidays sailing to Ilfracombe, Saundersfoot and along the Cornish Coast.

In the 1970’s a 6 cylinder 90hp Leyland Diesel Engine was installed, a marinised 1960’s Tiger Bus engine. Fully overhauled, Summer 2018 and in running order. Morse control.
Double diagonal teak hull on composite iron and oak frames. Oak centre-line and bronze rudder skeg. Original rivited Admiralty superstructure and teak framed aft cabin. £10,000 has been spent on the hull bringing it up to a good standard, all the teak planking is original.
Double Cabin with solid fuel stove, storage, access to chain locker and steps up to Wheelhouse with side deck doors and central helm with a bronze spoked wheel. Spacious deck saloon with access below to engine room and store. Steps aft lead to large fitted kitchen and door to study office which could convert to a second bedroom. Heads / Shower room.
