HISTORY & DESCRIPTION:

The 1928 ‘Cyclone 11’ is a development of an earlier 1919 THB design, proportionally enlarged to create a 6.5 ton Thames Measurement cruising yacht.

Formerly owned by the co.founder of the Harrison Butler Association, Ron Goodhand and more recently by the late Commander Richardson. A well known HB in classic yachting circles.

Carvel teak, copper fastened to oak timbers.  Swept teak laid decks, teak cabin coamings and brightwork. Spoon bow, transom stern, long 2.2 ton ballast keel, displacement 5.7 tons.

Chain locker, Fo’c’sle with two full length berths having fitted cushions and lockers below. Heads Compartment with Lavac WC.  Saloon ( full headroom) with settee berths to port and starboard with fitted cushions, lockers, large chart table.  Galley with stainless steel sink having fresh-water pump. Two burner gas cooker with grill. Pantry and crockery lockers.  Aft Cockpit, locker seats, stern lazarette and access beneath cockpit sole to 12 hp Saab single cylinder diesel engine, two 12 volt batteries.

Deck stepped in tabernacle spruce pole mast and spruce spars, stainless steel standing rigging.  Two mainsails, furling jib, spinnaker, spinola and genoa.  Sprayhood, dodgers, boom and cockpit covers.
Autohelm 2000, Seafarer Log, Sounder, Windspeed direction indicator, Seafarer radio/telephone.

BROKERS NOTE:

One of the rarer and most sought after yachts from the highly respected ‘Doctor’  Beautifully built of quality materials by the famous Loch Fyne Dickies of Tarbert.  Offered at realistic guide price with some cosmetics and re-commissioning required.  This is definately one not to be missed. Sold by Classic Yacht Brokerage last year and unexpectedly back on the market. A great investment and a joy to own with an excellent sailing performance.
