HISTORY & DESCRIPTION:

Olin Stephens needs little introduction as one of the 20th Century’s leading yacht designers working in partnership in New York as Sparkman & Stephens. Many yachts built to their designs have won practically every International Racing event including, a good many times the America’s Cup.

The S&S 38 design dates from 1967 and incorporates a fin and skeg profile which offers excellent sailing performance within a quality built yacht by the well known Cheoy Lee Shipyard in Hong Kong.

Goblin , sail number 87 was first launched in 1967 in the ownership of R McAulay and registered in Hong Kong, official number 317742. In the mid 1970’s C J Bushe of Kowloon became the next registered owner. In the late 1980’s the current owners bought Goblin sailing principally, in recent years from Cyprus.

GRP moulded hull and decks with recent epoxy treatment below the waterline and April 2014 antifoul. Scrubbed teak rail, cockpit coamings and trim, recently refurbished.

Original interior with teak faced joinery offering accommodation for five.
Saloon with two settee berths, drop-leaf cabin table incorporating wine rack, two quarter berths and pilot berth.
Full sized chart table to the port hand aft.
L shaped starboard galley with Kerosine cooker, sink with hand pump and ice box.
Generous forepeak with sail stowage and chain locker.
Heads compartment with marine wc and corner wash basin and vanity unit.
