An RORC Class Two Cruiser Racer designed by Captain John Illingworth RN and built under his supervision at the Herve Shipyard in La Rochelle.
Close seamed mahogany planked hull copper fastened to steam bent acacia timbers. Marine ply decks, varnished mahogany coachroof, cockpit and brightwork.
Hollow, keel stepped spruce masts, main 60ft. and mizzen 36ft. The masts are connected by a triatic stay, running from the mizzen to the stern. John Illingworth chose this method to reduce the compression in the mast and consequently reduce mast sections and weight.
All the deck fittings and rigging equipment have been specifically designed and manufactured in high quality stainless-steel.
50hp Perkins diesel engine with 200 litre stainless-steel tank.
Full two year restoration throughout completed in 1996 by Le Chantier du Guip Shipyard.
Accommodation for eight including crew. Main Saloon, four berths. Owners Stateroom, three berths and additional pilot / navigators berth. Fully fitted galley, Heads Compartment. Sail Stowage. Aft Cockpit.

A fine pedigree cruiser racer from the board of a renown yacht designer. She is particularly fast in light winds but a capable vessel in stronger weather with a deep relatively narrow hull form. In recent years she has cruised throughout Europe, the Baltic Sea and Greek Islands. Melusine 2 has taken part in the America Cup Jubilee, Benodet Regatta, Douarnenez Festival and raced with success in various Med. regattas.
