HISTORY & DESCRIPTION:

Mohican Too was built in 2001 by the well established Netherlands Shipyard Brovo Scheepsbouw in Enkhuizen to a design by naval architect Kees Kornaat based on a successful Colin Archer cruising yacht.

Construction is of 6mm steel, double welded on over-laping joints with a 4mm thick deck finished in non-slip. The keel of this bespoke vessel was laid in 2000 with the idea of extended cruising, sail training or expeditions. Mohican Too has just completed an Arctic cruise from the South Coast of England to North Norway, North Russia, Swalbard, Greenland, Iceland, The Faroes, Shetland Isles, Helgoland, Keil Canal, and to Lauter Mole, Rugen Island and North-East Germany. During this momentous cruise all weather conditions were experienced and the vessel proved to be a very capable sea boat as expected from a Colin Archer based design.

Mohican Too was first launched as a cutter rigged sloop but was successfully re-rigged as a ketch in 2014 with two new masts and four sails. The modified rig has proven to be a great success and is easily managed by a crew of two.

The accommodation is currently arranged for five in two cabins, not including the aft cabin which could quite easily be fiited-out with an additional four berths or as an owners stateroom with an ensuite. 24 & 240 volt lighting.

Fore Cabin: Two single bunks with electric heads, wash basin and water-tight steel bulkhead door to:
Saloon: With dinette, three berths, chart table and access to:
Galley: With Wallas 85U ceramic hob, 86D oven (both diesel fired) microwave, washing machine. Spin dryer. 800 litres fresh-water capacity. 200 litre holding tank.
Aft Cabin: Currently used and gym with full shower and Blake heads.
Engine Room: Housing the 70hp Daewoo diesel engine (about 400 hours only) shaft drive. Electronic voltage splitter gives 26 volts to the engine battery and 32 volts to the service batteries. Recent new rubber engine mounts and shaft re-alignment by Lauterbach Marine. Fuel capacity 510 litres.
Cockpit: Wheel steering, locker seating, spray hood.
Sails & Spars: The vessel was re-rigged in 2014 with new mast, sails and standing rigging by Lauterbach Marine. Four new Harken sheet winches and four Harken mast winches. Reefing winch.
