HISTORY & DESCRIPTION:

The Banjer 37 design dates from 1968 by Dutch naval architect Dick Lefeber. As well as the extremely successful Banjer he went on to design the equally popular Rogger and Krammer series of yachts. The Banjer is based on North Sea trawler lines and as such has proven to be a weatherly, long-distance cruising yacht, with many examples undertaking long-distance voyages throughout the world. Production of the Banjer moved to Stangate Marine, Littlehampton during the 1970s. Various rig options and superstructure configurations were offered, the most popular being the aft cockpit, pilothouse version.

ALBATROS, built in 1972 to Lloyds specification by Intermarine, Holland has the sought-after pilothouse and aft cockpit with a bermudian ketch rig setting 30 sq.m plain sail. Finished to a high standard using the latest techniques of the day with plentiful use of solid teak and stainless steel and with usual Dutch thoroughness, with an emphasis on durability and comfort. Costing new in 1972, standard model £20,000

ALBATROS has been the subject of much improvement and upgrading between 2013 to 2017 with over £10,000 spent.
