HARMONY – HISTORY & DESCRIPTION

The Cardinal Series of yachts date from the 1980s and were the foundation of the Warwick Yacht Design Company. Alan Warwick 1934-2018 set up the W.Y.D company in Auckland in 1980 producing over 500 designs to include performance yachts, mono and multihulls, sports fishers, luxury superyachts, high-speed launches and commercial boats. The company quickly gained a reputation for quality design and as such performance cruiser/racers such as the Cardinal 46. Consequently, they are highly sought-after, long-distance, blue water, fin & skeg yachts with well planned generous accommodation for extended living aboard.

Hull prepared and epoxy treated in 2013, inspected annually. Teak laid deck re-caulked 2019. Coachroof windows re-sealed 2019.

Under the rear Port hand section is the main water pressurising pump and expansion chamber and the Fridge /Cooler unit and emetic outlets for both mains and 12 volt DC outlets and ventilation air inlets.
Fridge /Cooler Air outlet is ducted into the engine compartment where it is exhausted via a blower of natural ventilation vents.

Starboard side is an office/navigation area with main power outlets for equipment including
Printer and Laptop. Storage for receipts, Harbour dues and other office paperwork. There is a station for instant Navigation with instruments for GPS, AIS Radar, M.O.B state with three remote sensor units to alarm if the distance is greater than 20 metres from the base station.
Radar Display Unit which is not functionally incorporated as I do not have a Radar Operator.
