HISTORY & DESCRIPTION:

MANGOLD was designed by Werner Stiefel and built in 1958 by Yachtwerft Kriger Wick, Germany to a stylish cruiser-racer design. The original naval architect plans still exist, copies of which are available.

Purchased by the current owner in 1995 MANGOLD has been the subject of a complete seven-year refit, completed in 2002. Since then she has cruised the Baltic from her current base of Danholm Island.

Mahogany planked hull, copper fastened to steam bent oak timbers with additional oak laminated frames. Stainless steel floors. Sheathed marine-ply decks. Oak superstructure. Mahogany brightwork.

Spacious Saloon with settee berths to port and starboard, offset from centreline cabin table, chart table to starboard, quarter berth aft, Taylors diesel-fired heater, galley to port quarter with sink unit, pantry and crockery lockers and Taylors paraffin cooker.
Fore Cabin with double and single berths, fore hatch and access to large forepeak sail locker.
Heads Compartments, marine heads and washbasin.

Bermudian Three-Quarter Rig sets 80 Square Metres plain sail. 19-metre Spruce pole mast, 5.30-metre boom. Four Dacron sails, new standing rigging 2002.

60hp VOLVO MD 22P Diesel Engine – fitted new 2001, serviced 2019. 21 x 15 three-bladed propeller. Three batteries (2011) 350 litres fuel capacity. 250 litres freshwater capacity.
