HISTORY & DESCRIPTION:

SILVER KING was designed and built by Thornycroft & Co. Ltd. Hampton Upon Thames in 1965 for Alan De Costa of London. Alan kept her on the River Thames in the first year of his ownership, returning SILVER KING to Thornycroft’s in 1966 for the wheelshelter to be fully enclosed. SILVER KING was then sailed down to Palma, Mallorca where she was sold in 1967 to Leslie Bolson of Albion Gate, Hyde Park, London. Leslie moved SILVER KING to Cannes in the late 1970s where she was bought by Madame Dorothy Atkins of Eden Palm, Cannes. The current owners, the Gilberts purchased SILVER KING in 1982, they remained in Cannes until 1998 before re-locating to Antibe and later to San Remo in 2012 where she is presently stationed.

SILVER KING has been a much-loved family boat these past three decades or so. Business commitments in recent years have not allowed much free time to spend aboard and SILVER KING now requires some refurbishment.
