In the late 1950s Kemp Shipyard, Hythe, Southampton began moulding their first GRP hulls under the trade name Glascade GRP, marketed as Senior Marine. The first example was shown in 1959 at Olympia and by 1970 Senior Marine became one of the largest GRP craft manufacturer in the UK, only a close second to Halmatic. Glascade moulded hulls for the fledgling companies Princess and Sunseeker.

Moulded by Glascade Ltd in 1967 and sold as a Senior ‘Sheerline 32’ Aft Cabin Model, fitted out for the first owner in 1970 and registered in London, official number 363651.

This Senior Sheerline has only had two owners since built and has been in the same family ownership since 2004. An extensive refit was carried out some years ago with recent work undertaken since the vessel was transported from The Broads to The Solent.

BROKERS NOTE:

The Senior 32 has undoubtedly become a 60s ‘classic’ with their distinctive ‘Capri’ styling and rugged practicality. A no nonsense, estuary, river or coastal vessel offering spacious accommodation and good performance with a semi-planing hull form. This vessel has been the subject of much expenditure over the years and is a particularly good example.
Inspection recommended.
