‘Tumblehome’ is one of a number of early 1950’s hire fleet motor-cruisers built to the Royal Tiara design by Royalls Boatyard of Wroxham, Norfolk.

Sold out of service in to private ownership, ‘Tumblehome’ has since been the subject of a complete keel up restoration undertaken by Martham Boatbuilding Company.  The project, which took three years was completed in 2008.  The vessel was completely re-planked above the waterline and eighty percent below.  The mahogany superstructure and coachroof was also renewed together with new front windows, screen and canopy. The cockpit and interior were re-built in mahogany and oak and the cabin re-upholstered.  A new electric system was installed and a new Nani 3.21 diesel engine supplying domestic hot water.

A complete photographic record exists of the restoration along with receipts for all the work, equipment and fittings.

‘Tumblehome’ has had limited use since being re-launched and is boatyard stored from November to March every year with an annual exterior re-paint and varnish.

Hard chine carvel mahogany hull on oak, sheathed marine ply decks, varnished mahogany superstructure, cockpit and transom.

Traditional accommodation with mahogany joinery, new upholstery and curtains.
