HISTORY & DESCRIPTION:
The legendary naval architect Robert Clarke designed the Yachting-World 5-Tonner post-war, which instantly became a success. Launched in 1947 JOELLE was built by the well-respected boat builders Philip & Son of Dartmouth. She was owned for a spell by Brig. C H Lyall-Grant of Cob Court, Ashburton and stationed in Brixham before being bought by the Welford family during the 1960s. JOELLE is now in the fourth generation of the same family.
She has been carefully maintained over the years and kept on a Poole Yacht Club mooring for a quarter of a century.
Hull
1” larch on oak frames. Massive pitch pine stringers and beamshelves (4”x3”) within. Hanging brackets etc. Re-galvanised 1997. Deck re-covered in the 1990s (spare roll of Trakmark available). 2 main and ample 6’6” quarter berth, plus pipecot root berth. Shelving over and under-berth stowage good. Reasonable galley space and storage. Double burner paraffin stove.
Engine
18HP Perkins Perama M20, installed 2000. New Brig rubber dinghy and electric O/B, plus MOB Dan, light and horseshoe buoy. Six fenders, auto bilge pump, Whale and portable hand pump.
DSC VHF, Garmin chartplotter and handheld unit. Echo sounder and solar panel. Foghorn. Whale Pump.
Sails
Main, staysail and yankee. All terylene tan. More than adequate set of halyards, sheets and warps. Full set of International Code Signal Flags.
Paraffin gimballed saloon and anchor lights. Full internal 12v electric lighting and sockets. Electric anchor winch, S/L Sprint 600. 10 Kg S/L Delta anchor and 40 metres of new 7mm chain rode.
Spinnaker boom (+Ghosting Quadrilateral), 2 boat hooks (Al & Wood). 2 fire extinguishers. Spare lifejackets. Keel Bolts drawn and four replaced in 2007.

2 ‘Cockpit Table’ (2 or4). Stows under Starboard Bunk.
